The Piano: Jon’s Kawai BS30 piano sits prominently on the back wall of his studio. His upright piano search came to an abrupt end the moment he played his first chord on this beauty. He has composed and recorded countless songs with this piano, including his album Paper Trail, born from improv sessions lasting late into the night.
The Layers: PostFelt goes beyond traditional piano sounds by offering eight layers of sonic explorations. This expansive palette includes a wide range of effects such as reverbs, delays, chorus, pitch modulation, tape effects, and even a layer of piano strings plucked with a guitar pick for subtle to aggressive attack.

THE ARTIST | Jon Meyer
Jon Meyer is a composer, pianist, and producer, and the founder of Somerville Sounds. His work lives in the space he calls folk cinema: handmade, human, and quietly cinematic. PostFelt grew out of the instrument at the center of his studio, a Kawai BS30 upright he has written and recorded with for years, including his album Paper Trail, which took shape during late-night improvisations. With PostFelt, Jon set out to capture not just the felt-softened tone of the piano but the feeling of sitting at it after dark, then opened that sound into something wider and more atmospheric. Through his music and his YouTube channel, he builds instruments meant to inspire songs, not just fill libraries.

Q: Must I buy Kontakt before purchasing PostFelt?
A: No! PostFelt works in the FREE Kontakt Player. It will be downloaded and installed to your computer during the setup process.
Q: Is my Mac too old to install PostFelt?
A: Maybe. Although the Kontakt Player is included with your purchase, it does require macOS 11 or higher to work. Please read the System Requirements above.
Q: After purchase I received an email with a license key. Now what?
A: You will need to download the latest version of NATIVE ACCESS 2. Once installed, click + Add Serial and follow the prompts.
